The pot experiment with different doses of phosphorus (0.3 g P/pot; 0.6 g P/pot; 1.2 g P/pot) and with spring barley which was he studied crop was carried out. Soils of three types (Chernozem, Cambisol, Luvisol) were chosen to determine the changes of phosphorus contents in soils determined by Mehlich 3 and NH4-acetate methods and P-uptake by plants. The yields of spring barley dry mass did not correspond directly to increased P doses as the highest yield increase was noted at the lowest P dose and stagnation in yields was noted at higher P doses. The P-uptake by barley corresponded well to Mehlich 3 method, which seemed to be a good method for prediction of P-supply of soils. NH4-acetate showed that there exist limits of saturation of soil solution by phosphorus.
