The working unit was developed in cooperation with P and L company in Biskupice. Its original construction is copyrighted in addition to the European patent by 2 other Czech patents No. 307814 and 307816. The potato ridges cultivator with a guidance system using ultrasonic transmitters is designed for gentle surface (cultivating stars) and subsurface (cultivating chisels) loosening of ridges and furrows at potatoes and vegetable breeding. Ridges loosening may be associated with subsurface application of liquid fertilizers at the beginning of potato emergence. The purpose of loosening associated with the formation of dimples in the furrow between the ridges by means of a rotating wheel with blades is to increase water retention from precipitation and irrigation by spraying, improve water infiltration into the soil, reduce the risk of water erosion on sloping land, elevate year to year, stabilize tuber yields, including drier years. The cultivator can also be used to lay a hose under the soil surface when potatoes and vegetables grown in ridges are irrigated. The cultivator was successfully on hundreds of hectares of potatoes fields. The original cultivator solution was awarded at the international trade fair Techagro 2018 (nomination for the main prize GRAND PRIX, extraordinary prize Soil Water Retention Friendly, prize GRAND PRIX Techagro of the magazine Farmer) and at the international agrosalon Země živitelka (main prize Gold ear).
