Two years of the national collection of health disorders in Czech dairy cows
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The paper presents an analysis of health data from dairy cattle herds from the first two national studies in the Czech Republic carried out in 2016 and 2017. The data were gathered retrospectively via on-line survey. The studies covered 289,802 and 281,914 cows, which represents 78 and 76% of Czech dairy cows of which about 50% were Holstein. The reported health events were expressed as lactational incidence rate LIR (number of affected lactations divided by number of lactations at risk) x 100. The results show, that at least one disorder was reported in 45% cows (according to the study from 2016) and 55% cows (according to the study from 2017). Clinical mastitis was the most common disease – LIR 18.6% and 17.9%, followed by metritis, cystic ovary disease and retained placenta. Digital dermatitis – LIR 2.8% and 5.1% and interdigital phlegmon were the frequently reported foot diseases. Primary ketosis was the most frequently reported clinical metabolic disease LIR 2.7% and 2.2%.
