Diversity of Innate Immunity Genes in the Production Population of the Czech Red Pied Cattle
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The screening of the production population of the Czech Red Pied cattle, which can be considered as a local Simmental breed of combined type, for the diversity in innate immunity genes started in 2016. The focus at the candidate genes for infection resistance is expected to provide exhaustive information about the diversity in these genes and subsequently about the phenotypic effects of their variants. The group of 150 bulls covered with the study illustrated the development of the breed from 2000 to 2017. The subpopulation of the Czech Red Pied that is conserved in the genetic resources programme since 2010 was included as well (35 animals). Since this group kept in the form of a nucleus herd reflects the genetic structure of the breed around 2000, the comparison with the contemporary production herd is expected to detect the selection trends.
