Lameness in Genomic Evaluation for Foot and Claw disorders in Czech Holstein cows
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Genetic parameters and genomic breeding values for three groups of foot and claw disorders (CD): infectious diseases (ID), claw horn lesions (CHL) and overall claw disorder (OCD) were estimated. Lameness (L) represented the indicator trait for CD. L figured in the two-trait or multi-trait model with ID, CHL or OCD to increase the accuracy of genomic breeding values. Data from 189,893 lactations of 57,711 Holstein cows were recorded on 74 farms in the Czech Republic from 2017 to 2021. The linear animal model and single-step genomic prediction were employed. Genetic correlations between L and ID were 0.27; CHL 0.60; OCD 0.67. An increase in the accuracy of the breeding value appeared in the two-trait model compared to the single trait model. Due to the multi-trait model, the increase in accuracy was no longer as significant as the two-trait model. Paper was supported by the projects MZERO0718 and QK1910320.
