This paper deals with the research and development of technology for early potato pre-germination and their planting conducted at the Research institute of agricultural engineering (RIAE) Prague in the 80's. Within the research were carried-out trials and developed the most suitable pre-germination pallets, technology of lighting in potato chitting house, technology of handling with pallets and pre-germinated potato planting. The modernisation and improvement of that technology was suggested for currentconditions of the Czech Republic during early potato growing. In the paper are illustrations of the research results and development realized in co-operation with agricultural enterprises focused to growing of early potato. There was found out increasednumber of germs and their better quality in the pre-germination pallets in comparison with classical method of pre-germination in wooden boxes.
