"The contribution deals with the issue of the methodology for analysis of biomass potential for a selected region with the use of geographic information system TopoL xT7.0. Analyses of biomass potential in a selected region is solved by these biomass resources: grain straw, forest harvesting residues, purposely grown biomass from short rotation coppice plantations and permanent grassland biomass. To assess production potential of residual biomass from conventional agriculture a map of wheat and permanent grassland yields was produced based on tabular values of the Czech agricultural land valuation. A safe value was calculated for forest harvesting residues, that are possible to take from the stand. The production potential of short rotation coppice (SRC) is derived from the results of field testing . Assessed biomass potential is supplemented with economic analysis of individual biomass resources. "
