A workshop and a lecture entitled "Direct thrombus imaging for translational stroke research" was held on 26 September, 2019. The workshop was part of a two-day visit of Dr. Dong-Eog Kim, M. D., Ph.D. (Dongguk University, Seoul, South Korea) in Brno organized by Doc. MUDr. Robert Mikulík, Ph.D. (FNUSA-ICRC) in cooperation with PharmDr. Josef Mašek, Ph.D., Department of Pharmacology and Immunotherapy, VRI. During his visit to Brno, Dr. Dong-Eog Kim visited institutions that are involved in the activities of the Stroke programme, whose Principal investigator is Doc. MUDr. Robert Mikulík, Ph.D. The Department of Pharmacology and Immunotherapy is involved in these activities through the AZV project, the joint laboratory of FNUSA-ICRC – VRI “NANOPHARM”, laboratories of in vivo imaging techniques and laboratories of microscopy techniques. The workshop included a tour of laboratories of the Department of Pharmacology and Immunotherapy and a subsequent discussion on future cooperation. Representatives of the following institutions participated in the discussion: Veterinary Research Institute, International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital in Brno (FNUSA-ICRC), University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Institute of Biophysics AS CR, Institute of Scientific Instruments AS CR, Institute of Biotechnology AS CR and Palacký University Olomouc. The workshop was organized under the OP RDE FIT project (Reg. No. CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/15_003/0000495).
