Characterization of Lactic Acid Bacteria from Gastrointestinal Tract of Wild Boars and Domestic Pigs
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
This poster focuses on the characterization of lactic acid bacteria from two different sources: the gastrointestinal tract of wild boars and domestic pigs, aiming to identify probiotic candidates for domestic piglets. The probiotic properties and safety requirements of the strains were evaluated, including antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial activity against pathogens, and carbohydrate utilization. The presence of genes of interest was also assessed through genome annotation. Wild boars proved to be a more beneficial source of probiotic genes compared to the microbiota of domestic pigs. The poster was presented at the 18th International Scientific Conference – Probiotics, Prebiotics, Gut Microbiota and Health, held in Athens from 24th to 26th June 2025.
