Perception of CSR behaviour in large agricultural holdings: Case study on the Czech Republic
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Since agricultural holdings directly affect the environment, countryside and communities, it is necessary to examine their attitude towards the society. The aim is to assess to what extend large agricultural holdings perceive Corporate Socially Responsible (CSR) behaviour as important in their business and whether it depends on firm’s size.We used Carrol (1992) pyramid of CSR and questioned the representatives of agricultural holdings about the goal of their business and importance of socially responsible activities on the level of economic (6 activities), legal (3), ethical (3) and philanthropic responsibilities (2).Key goal of the businesses was mainly to achieve sustainable long-term profit. It points out on their orientation to the economic responsibility towards their inner stakeholders. Majority of representatives of agricultural holdings considered CSR behaviour important at all levels; ethical and economic dimensions were the most vital. The larger was the firm, the higher importance had activities from ethical dimension.EAAE Kongress, Rennés, 28 August - 1 September 2023
