The chapter is describing the history of the German and Czech medical school development at the Charles University Prague on the example of the construction of the Department of Dermatology. F. J. Pick was a significant personality of the dermatovereology of the 19th century. He was an excellent clinician and scientist and at the same time founder of the German Dermatological Society in Prague.
