Der Artikel befasst sich mit den Umständen, die zur Gründung zwei königlicher Städte - Ungarisch Hradisch und Ungarisch Brod geführt haben, analysiert ihre Ereignisse und mögliche Motive. Im Fall Ungarisch Hradisch könnte es unter anderem eine Notwendigkeit sein, den Grenzraum gegen Kumaneneinfälle zu sichern und auch ein Gegengewicht für den Einfluss des nahen Klosters Velehrad zu bilden. Trotz der Spannung zwischen dem Kloster und der neu gegründeten Stadt vermied der König Přemysl Ottokar II. einen offenen Konflikt und machte lieber mehrere Kompromisse. Diese Kompromisse und Zugeständnisse verursachten aber dem König die ökonomischen Verluste, die er durch eine Gründung der zweiten königlichen Stadt, Ungarisch Brod, zu kompensieren versuchte. Die Studie beschreibt weiter die Entwicklung beider Städte in 14. Jahrhundert, die unterschiedlich war. Ungarisch Hradisch wurde ein inoffizielles Zentrum der Region, während Ungarisch Brod in dieser Zeit oft unter Kriegsereignissen litt.

The article deals with the circumstances that led to the founding of two royal towns - Uherské Hradiště and Uherský Brod, analyses their events and possible motives. In the case of Uherské Hradiště, it could be, among other things, the need to secure the border area against Cuman invasions and also to create a counterweight to the influence of the nearby Velehrad monastery. Despite the tension between the monastery and the newly founded town, the king Přemysl Otakar II avoided an open conflict and preferred to make several compromises. However, these compromises and concessions caused economic losses for the king, which he tried to compensate by founding the second royal town, Uherský Brod. The study further describes the development of both towns in the 14th century, which was different. Uherské Hradiště became an unofficial centre of the region, while Uherský Brod often suffered from war events during this period.
