L’étude traite de la situation culturelle et intellectuelle de la Moravie au XVIIIe siècle dans la perspective du centre et de la périphérie. Le XVIIIe siècle se caractérise par la construction des réseaux de communication intellectuels à travers l’Europe. La Moravie, une province priphérique de la monarchie autrichienne, n’était pas étrange à ce phénomène. Or, la position de la société morave à l’époque des Lumières se développait à travers des relations diverses avec plusieurs centres culturels : à travers l’admiration de la France, centre des Lumières, à travers l’émancipation vis-à-vis de Prague, centre traditionnel des pays tchèques, et à travers le rapprochement avec Vienne, capitale de la monarchie des Habsbourg.

The paper deals with the cultural and intellectual state of Moravia during the 18th century in the perspective of centre and periphery. The 18th century is characterised by the construction of intellectual communication networks across Europe. Moravia, a peripheral province of the Austrian monarchy, was also touched by this phenomenon. However, the position of the Moravian society at the time of the Enlightenment was developed through various relations with several cultural centres: through admiration of France, the centre of the Enlightenment, through emancipation of Prague, the traditional centre of the Czech countries and through convergence with Vienna, the capital of the Habsburg monarchy.
