Podocera delicata (Collin, 1944) is recorded for the first time from the Czech Republic (N. Bohemia and N. Moravia; new easternmost distributional limit) and its association with Carex paniculata L. and some other large Carex species is demonstrated. Newrecords of Stenomicra cogani Irwin, 1982 from the Czech Republic (both Bohemia and Moravia) and southwestern Romania are given, representing new easternmost occurrences of the species, which proved to be associated with several species of marshland Cyperaceae. The first rearing records are given for P. delicata (from Carex vesicaria L.) and S. cogani (from Scirpus sylvaticus L. and Carex elongata L.). Photographs of both species and their preferred host plants and habitats are presented. Following therecent elevation of the subgenus Podocera Czerny, 1929 to genus, two species formerly treated in the genus Stenomicra are placed in new combinations, viz. Podocera delicata (Collin, 1944) comb.n. and P. soniae (Merz & Roháček, 2005) comb.
