Antimüllerian hormone (AMH) levels and antral follicle count (AFC) as predictors of the ovarian reaction in young healthy women
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Objective. To determine the predictive capacity of antimüllerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC) on the ovarian reserve in a population of young women who are not treated with infertility. Study design. A homogeneous collection of 61 individuals was subjected to testing by AMH, and to an ultrasound AFC test; and then was stimulated by the recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in a dosage of 120 - 260 IU/L (mean +- standard deviation: 184.8 +- 36.36 IU/L) depending on the age and BMI. Results. The number of metaphase II oocytes (MII) retrieved was 16.8 +- 8.38 counts; the total number of retrieved oocytes (OR), i.e. the number of germinal vesicle + metaphase I + metaphase II oocytes, was 21.6 +- 10.65 counts. Linear mixed models were used to verify effects of AMH and AFC on the ovarian reaction. The results showed that the mean number of MII oocytes significantly increases by both AMH (0.6-fold; 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.05, 1.24; P=0.033) and AFC (1.3-fold; CI: 0.24, 2.45; P=0.018). The mean of OR was significantly increased by AMH (1.0-fold; CI: 0.19, 1.73; P=0.015). Conclusion. Both AFC and AMH are suitable predictors for the number of metaphase II oocytes. For predicting ovarian reserve is AMH sufficient.
