Progress Report - 17RPT04 VersICaL - A versatile electrical impedance calibration laboratory based on digital impedance bridges
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
One of the main motivations for the EMPIR project 17RPT04 VersICaL is the necessity for small national metrology institutes and high level calibration laboratories to maintain a local scale of electrical impedance at the required level of accuracy and at an economic cost. The traditional method of using the external calibration of sets of impedance standards to “import” impedance scales is beset with problems. The VersICaL project is addressing this issue by exploiting the results of existing research on digital impedance bridges (DIBs). One of the activities in the project is the design, construction and validation of a DIB based on a multichannel digitally synthesized sinewave source. It is intended that this bridge can serve as a model for newcomers to the field. Within the project it will be validated over the range 1 nF to 10 μF and 1 mH to 10 H with relative uncertainties in the range 10-5 to 10-6 for a frequency range of 120 to 1592 Hz but it is expected to be usable over a wider frequency range.
