Extensive multiple intraneural ganglion cysts of the peroneal nerve
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
Extensive multiple ganglion cysts are rare; they can be perineural or intraneural and may cause peripheral nerve compression. In this case report, we present patient with the compression of the common peroneal nerve in the area of the fi bular head caused by multiple ganglion cysts with subsequent surgical management. A 45-year-old male patient was healthy with only a history of varicose vein surgery. He was employed as a waiter. One morning, he began to feel paraesthesias on the instep of his right foot. Within two days, he noticed weakened elevation of his toes and had diffi culty standing on his right heel. In the objective fi nding, there was a noticeable weakening of the dorsal fl exion of the foot and toe (grade 2/5 according to the muscle test) with reduced sensation on the instep on the right-side in the innervation zone of the common peroneal nerve.
