The research of national identity in the Czech Republic represents only one type socio-cultural study covering the area attractive to investigators. In the research the findings clearly show strong connection between national identity and historical awareness. In this sense nation is seen as a cultural unit comprising individuals with the common history and herritage. This concept of national identity is the reflected in the attitude towards foreign cultural influences nad other ethnic groups. The research revealed strong bias towards the personal individuality which then allows benevolent approach when considering ethnic attributes of the nation.
