Tomáš Halíks Lebensgeschichte ist von spannenden Ereignissen und Erlebnissen bestimmt: seine Kindheit im Stalinismus, sein Übertritt zum Christentum in einer Zeit harter Verfolgungen der Kirche, der "Prager Frühling" und die sowjetische Besatzung im Jahr1968. Nach seiner heimlichen Priesterweihe 1978 arbeitet er elf Jahre in der "Untergrundkirche". 1989 beteiligt er sich an der "Samtenen Revolution", danach am schwierigen Aufbau der Demokratie. Er erzählt von seinen engen Beziehungen zu Persönlichkeiten wie Václav Havel, Johannes Paul II., Fr?re Roger, dem Dalai Lama. Seine Autobiografie verknüpft Tomáš Halík mit Reflexionen zu grundlegenden theologischen Fragen - und mit Einblicken in seine inneren Krisen und Konflikte.

Tomáš Halíks course of life is determined by exciting events and experiences: his childhood in the Stalin era, his conversion to Christianity in the time of hard persecutions of the Church, the "Prague Spring" and the Soviet occupation in the 1968th. After his secret ordination in 1978, he worked for eleven years in the "underground church". In 1989, he participates in the "Velvet Revolution", then in the difficult construction of democracy. He tells of his close relations with personalities such as Vaclav Havel, John Paul II., Brother Roger, the Dalai Lama. His autobiography associates Tomas Halik reflections on fundamental theological questions and with insights into its internal crises and conflicts.
