Based on the longterm linguistic research of the Secret History of the Mongols the author revises an idea of the historical phonetic representation of the initial element in the word preceding the vowel (so-called titem/titim "crown") suggesting that theinitial consonant h was rather marked by the signs ?e?th and ka?ph.
