Das Kapitel setzt sich mit theoretischen Modellierungen von Interkulturalität auseinander und fragt nach der Angemessenheit dieser Konzepte zur Beschreibung der besonderen Interkulturalität Prags und der Böhmischen Länder. Das "Handbuch der deutschen Literatur Prags und der Böhmischen Länder" gibt - anhand der Auseinadersetzung mit der bisherigen Forschung und der bisher nicht erforschten Phänomene - einen umfassenden Überblick über die Literatur einer mitteleuropäischen Region und ihre Entwicklung seit der Aufklärung. Dabei werden bisherige Konzeptualisierungen, die u.a. von einer strikten Trennung der Prager von der sogenannten sudetendeutschen Literatur ausgingen, überwunden. Das Handbuch bietet vielmehr eine transkulturelle und -regionale Neuverortung der deutschsprachigen Literatur der Böhmischen Länder im komplexen Wirkungs- und Spannungsfeld von deutscher, jüdischer, tschechischer und habsburgischer Literatur und Kultur.

This chapter deals with the theoretical modeling of interculturality and asks about the appropriateness of these concepts for the description of the special interculturality of Prague and the Czech lands. The "Handbook of the German Literature of Prague and the Czech Lands" provides - based on the discussion with the previous research and the previously unexplored phenomena - a comprehensive overview of the literature of a Central European region and its development since the Enlightenment. In doing so, previous conceptualizations, which i.a. originated from a strict separation of the Prague from the so-called Sudeten German literature, are overcome. Rather, the handbook offers a transcultural and regional re-localization of the German-language literature of the Czech lands in the complex sphere of influence and tension between German, Jewish, Czech and Habsburg literature and culture.
