Nobilitace byly důležitým mocenským nástrojem mocenské politiky Habsburků. Během Třicetileté války bylo udílení šlechtictví často užíváno jako projev panovnické přízně. Studie se zabývá nobilitace vedoucích osobností Brna a Prahy nobilitovaných po obléhání měst Švédy v letech 1645 a 1648.

During the Thirty Years&apos; War, promotions to noble rank were an important and frequently offered reward, and a distinct expression of the ruler&apos;s favour.The study deals at the promotions to noble rank of the leading persons in Brno and Prague, who had distinguished themselves defending the cities against the Swedes in 1645 and 1648.
