El texto enfoca en el problema de la historia intelectual europea y la historia de ciencia, en relación a la conquista y colonización de las regiones ultramarinas, en especial América. Varios problemas del desarollo intelectual y transfer cultural, ocasionados por el abrimiento general de las horizontes nuevas, se discuten a base de la documentación producida por los misioners de las provincias centroeuropeas de la Compañía de Jesús, activos en el Nuevo Mundo en los siglos XVII y XVIII.

The text focuses on the problem of European intellectual history and history of science, in relation to the conquest and colonization of overseas regions, especially America. The various problems of intellectual development and cultural transfers, brought about by the general opening of new horizonts, are discussed on the basis of documentation produced by the missionaries from the Central European provinces of the Society of Jesus, active in the New World in the 17th and 18th centuries.
