Der Artikel befasst sich mit der österreichisch-ungarischen Politik gegenüber Sowjetrussland in den Jahren 1917-1918 im Kontext innerstaatlicher sozialer Spannungen und der österreichisch-ungarischen Prioritäten gegenüber Deutschland und der Ukraine. Der Artikel geht über das traditionelle Verständnis der Brestlitowsker Friedenskonferenz und ihrer Folgen hinaus, indem er sich auf die österreichisch-ungarische Politik gegenüber Sowjetrussland und der Ukraine im Frühjahr und Sommer 1918 konzentriert.

The article also goes beyond traditional considerations of Brest-Litovsk by examining Austro-Hungarian policy towards Soviet Russia and Ukraine in the spring and summer of 1918.
