V prispevku raziskujem medkulturni in medjezikovni dialog v delu inpisanju slovensko-hrvaške avtorice Zofke Kveder (1878-1926). Tovrstni dialog jebil prisoten v različnih obdobjih njenega življenja in je razkrival problem njene izjemnozapletene pisateljske identitete. Pisateljica je zaradi svojega }}nomadskega značaja(( v različnih obdobjih ustvarjanja komunicirala s srednjeevropskimi literarnimiskupnostmi in v svojo literaturo vključevala kulturne kode, simbole in elemente tehskupnosti. V literarni analizi sem bom osredinila na dve njeni deli iz njenega zagrebškegaobdobja: na češki roman Ze života záhřebské služky (Iz življenja zagrebške služkinje,Kveder, 1908), ki je izšel samo v češčini in v katerem realistično opisuje življenjenajnižjega sloja na začetku stoletja v Zagrebu ter na epistolarni roman Hanka, kiga je avtorica napisala in najprej objavila v hrvaščini, kasneje pa je izšel v prevoduv češčini in slovenščini; v romanu je v ospredju prototip moderne ženske, ki izhaja izpoljskega okolja (Kveder, 1915, 1918). Prvi roman je socialno kritična freska življenjanajnižjega socialnega sloja na začetku 20. stoletja v velikomestnem okolju, v kateremdominirajo socialistične ideje in ostra feministična kritika, drugi tekst je primer modernegaromana, kjer je narodna identiteta glavne junakinje pomembna za oblikovanjenjene zavesti o sebi in svetu. V obeh delih je bila pomembna izbira jezika, ki je izhajalatudi iz pisateljičine ocene knjižnega trga. V obeh delih je značilna reprezentacijadrugega naroda.

We analyze intercultural and interlingual dialogue and the representationof the other nations in the literary texts of Slovenian-Croatian author Zofka Kveder(1878-1926). She was a Central European intellectual, balancing between differentcultures. She began to write in the context of the transformation of Central Europeanculture of which Slovenia was a part of until the end of the First World War. Zofka Kvederwas the author of Slovenian Moderna with the more linguistic identities. She was connectedalso to Czech culture. She lived in Prague from 1900 until 1906, then she movedto Zagreb (Croatia). Her work was successfully published in Czech and well- known toCzech readers till the outbreak of the First World War. In the focus of our interest aretwo texts from different periods and different cultures of her life: a Czech novel Ze životazahřebské služky (From the Life of the Zagreb&apos;s Maiden, 1908) and a Croatian novelHanka (1915, 1918).In the novel Ze života zahřebské služky we reconstruct and analyse Croatian motives.The text belongs to the texts published only in the Czech language. The picture of Croatianheroes and the image of Zagreb are more stylisation and an ornament in the narrative.The story is above all sharp criticism of the patriarchal society anywhere in thebig Central European cities in the beginning of 20th Century. In the epistolary Croatiannovel Hanka, published first in Zagreb, the main hero is a Polish female intellectual, whois thrown in the First World War apocalypse: after divorce she settles in Prague andworks as a nurse in a war hospital. The construction of her Polishness is very importantand a part of her identity: the identity of the &quot;Modern Woman&quot;, who is conscious abouther intimate life, and also about the traumatic historical situation. This is also a subversivewar novel, full of pacifist thoughts. As a war pacifist and patriot, she feels responsiblefor the nation and all the world.Slovene-Croat Zofka Kveder was a hybrid writer and an important person in theFeminist movement in the first part of the 20th century in the Central European area.She wrote in different languages and her work was translated in different languages. Inanalysing her texts, we find a lot of pictures of the Other nation and culture. The multiculturaldialogue is part of her writer&apos;s strategy with different functions and it alsoshows the cultural context of her writing.
