Recently, two tombs belonging to officials Kairsu and Kairis (AC 33 and 34) were discovered in Abusir pyramid field, north of the pyramid of Neferirkara. Both of them held a rare and rather mysterious title im3-' "gracious of arm". Its holderds occupied quite a high position within the state's administration and were close to the king. During the Second, Third, and early Fourth Dynasties the title occurs only sporadically while it becomes relatively frequent from the reign of Nyuserra. During the Sixth Dynasty, most of the title holders were also viziers. The two new Abusir tombs provide significant new data about their social status.
