Die Renaissance in Mitteleuropa, die wir zwischen dem ausgehenden 15. und dem frühen 17. Jahrhundert verorten, brachte nicht nur einen Wandel im Bereich von Kunst und Kultur mit sich, sondern veränderte auch den Lebensstil. Dies betraf vor allem die Eliten der Gesellschaft, also den Herrscher, den Adel und deren Höfe einschließlich des persönlichen Umfelds, das wir vereinfacht als ,Haushalt&apos; bezeichnen können. Während die Untersuchung der Höfe von Herrschern und deren potenziellen Nachfolgern für diese Epoche in der Historiografie bereits einen festen Platz gefunden hat, gilt dies für die Problematik der Höfe von Frauen, besonders von Herrscherinnen, leider noch nicht. Um dieses politisch-historische und kulturelle Phänomen in Mitteleuropa umfassend charakterisieren zu können, fehlen uns immer noch die notwenigen Quellenstudien. Dieser Beitrag unternimmt den Versuch, die Struktur und vor allem die Aufgabe des Hofes der böhmischen, ungarischen und römischen Königin Anna Jagiello (1503-1547), der Gemahlin des Habsburgers Ferdinand I., zu verstehen. Da der Hof der Königin ein fester Bestandteil des Systems miteinander verflochtener Höfe von Mitgliedern der Habsburgerfamilie war, stützt sich die Interpretation teils auch auf einen Vergleich mit dem Hof Ferdinands I., wobei die Besonderheiten der beiden Höfe definiert werden sollen. Im Mittelpunkt des Interesses werden jene Bereiche der beiden Höfe stehen, die wir als ,Haushalt&apos; bezeichnen dürfen und die das persönliche Umfeld des Herrscherpaars darstellten.

The Renaissance in Central Europe, which we place between the late 15th and early 17th centuries, brought about not only a transformation in art and culture but also a change in lifestyle. This primarily affected the elites of society: rulers, the nobility, and their courts, including their personal entourage, which we can simply refer to as the &quot;household.&quot; While the study of the courts of rulers and their potential successors has already established a firm place in the historiography of this period, this is unfortunately not yet the case for the issue of women&apos;s courts, especially those of female rulers. To comprehensively characterize this political, historical, and cultural phenomenon in Central Europe, we still lack the necessary source studies. This article attempts to understand the structure and, above all, the function of the court of Anna Jagiello (1503-1547), Queen of Bohemia, Hungary, and Rome, wife of the Habsburg Ferdinand I. Since the Queen&apos;s court was an integral part of the system of interconnected courts belonging to members of the Habsburg family, the interpretation is partly based on a comparison with the court of Ferdinand I, with the aim of defining the distinctive features of both courts. The focus will be on those areas of both courts that we may call the &apos;household&apos; and that constituted the personal environment of the ruling couple.
