Silvester Krčméry, a man who played a significant role in the history of Slovakia, wrote in his biography, that his grandparents were representatives of four different nations, his grandfathers were Slovak and Polish, and his grandmothers were Hungarian and Armenian. The Armenian grandmother was Anna-Netty Zakarias.I never personally knew Silvester Krčméry, I do not know what kind of person he was, but I may point out a fundamental and specific feature of his Armenian character. His political rebellion did not lead to a political movement, but to the spreading of Christian teachings. The meaning of his mass movement of non-violent resistance against the communist dictatorship was to spread Christianity among different classes, and thanks to also his efforts, secret Catholic communities and a secret Catholic church were founded.
