Článek se zaměřuje na problematiku pozdně středověkých nástěnných maleb v profánním prostředí, které lze spojit s církevními organizacemi. Jeho základem je vzevrubná analýza nástěnných maleb na zámku v Dolních Kounicích a jejich následná komparace s nástěnnými malbami v Blaubeurenu, Zvolenu aj., které vznikly pro potřeby církevních prelátů. Na základě těchto úvah pak článek řeší otázku zda dolnokounické malby musí být spojené se šlechtickou donací Jana Kropáče z Nevědomí anebo jsou výsledkem obnovy zámku za některého z převorů zdejšího kláštera.

The article focuses on the issue of late medieval wall paintings in a secular environment that can be connected with church organizations. It is based on a thorough analysis of the wall paintings at the castle in Dolní Kounice and their subsequent comparison with the wall paintings in Blaubeuren, Zvolen, etc., which were created for the needs of church prelates. Based on these considerations, the article then addresses the question of whether the Dolní Kounice paintings must be connected with the donation of noble Jan Kropáč of Nevědomí or are the result of the restoration of the castle under one of the priors of the Dolní Kounice monastery.
