Plus de vingt ans apr?s la chute du régime socialiste en Tchécoslovaquie, les traces du passé allemand dans les pays tch?ques sont l'objet d'une mise en patrimoine symbolisée par l'ouverture en 2012, a Ústí nad Labem (Nord-Ouest de la Boh?me), d'un muséedédié a l'apport culturel des populations germanophones dans l'histoire de la République tch?que. Partant de cet exemple, l'analyse se propose d'interroger la gestion du passé allemand a partir de l'étude de l'articulation mémoire/territoire dans les espaces frontaliers de la République tch?que depuis 1990. Agencé en trois parties, cet article présente dans un premier temps la notion de mémoire sociale et son intér?t pour la recherche en géographie sociale et culturelle. Il restitue ensuite l'évolutionde la relation société/espace dans les régions frontali?res tch?ques depuis 1945 afin de saisir les cadres de représentation spatiaux dans lesquels s'effectue la mobilisation du passé allemand dans le présent.

More than twenty years after the collapse of the socialist regime in Czechoslovakia, the traces of German past in Czech lands are being integrated in the cultural heritage. This phenomenon is symbolized by the opening in 2012 of a museum of the culturalheritage of former German speaking citizens of pre WWII Czechoslovakia. Starting from this example, this paper aims to examine the management of German past in Czech borderlands within the analysis of the relation between social memory and territory. Todo so, the article first presents the notion of social memory and its potentially valuable assets for social and cultural geographical inquiries. It then describes the evolution of the relation between society and the space in Bohemian borderlands since1945.
