Political Marketing and Propaganda: Definitions, Evolutionary Changes, and Their Implications for a Taxonomy of Regime Types
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The distinction between political marketing and political propaganda has been long examined by many scholars, yet it is still an object of fierce debates and controversies. Both political marketing and propaganda often have the same goal: to persuade the citizens to act according to the politician’s or political parties’ aim, yet the tools, context and, most importantly ethical boundaries differ dramatically and from country to country. This chapter discusses the historical roots of propaganda and political marketing, as well as their socio-political context, which is crucial for defining the ethical component of persuasion.
