Der Verfasser forscht aufgrund der hagiographischen Quellen die Glaubwürdigkeit der Meinung, dass das erste Männerkloster in Böhmen, in Břevnov, vom Prager Bischof, Hl. Adalbert, nach seinem Rückkehr von römischen Exil mit der Hilfe der Mönchen vom römischen Kloster auf dem Aventin im Jahre 993 gegründet worden ist. Es gibt kein relevanter Beweis, dass Břevnov vom hl. Adalbert und mit der Hilfe der aventinischen Mönche gegründet worden ist. Das Schweigen der zeitgenoschischen Biographen des Adalberts inder Vita s. Adalberti prior und in der Vita s. Adalberti altera (von Brun von Querfurt) umgekehrt bezeugt, dass sowohl Adalbert als auch Aventinskloster mit der Gründungs Břevnov nichts zu tun hatten.

The author researches with hagiographical evidence the common opinion, that the Bishop of Prague, St. Adalbert, founded after his roman "exile" the first monastery for men in Břevnov, Bohemia, in 993, with the help of the monks of St. Boniface and Alexius on the Aventine hill in Rome. There are no relevant proofs of a founding of the monastery Břevnov by Adalbert and his cononization with monks from the monastery on the Aventine St. Boniface and Alexius. The silence of contemporary biographers of Adalbert in the Vita s. Adalberti prior and Bruno of Querfurt's Vita s. Adalberti altera proof that neither Adalbert nor the monastery on the Aventine had anything to do with the founding of Břevnov.
