L'article traite de la question du nombre de lectures dans l'histoire de la célébration de l'Eucharistie dans le rite romain. Basé sur la méthodologie de la liturgie comparée, il montre qu'a l'origine il y avait trois lectures dans le rite romain et que ce n'est que plus tard qu'il y a eu une réduction a deux lectures.

The article deals with the question of the number of readings in the history of the celebration of the Eucharist in the Roman rite. Based on the methodology of comparative liturgy, it shows that originally there were three readings in the Roman rite and that it was only later that there was a reduction to two readings.
