Im Fokus des Aufsatzes steht die theologische Reflexion des Verhältnisses von Spiritualität und gesellschaftspolitischer Verantwortung bzw. zwischen Spiritualität und katholischer Soziallehre. Die Ausführungen von Papst Franziskus zum Verhältnis von Kontemplation und Spiritualität einerseits und gesellschaftspolitischem Engagement andererseits werden dargestellt und theologisch analysiert. Darüber hinaus wird Bezug auf Überlegungen von Marianne Heimbach-Steins genommen, die einen maßgeblichen Beitrag zur theologischen Reflexion des Verhältnisses von Mystik und Politik in der Christlichen Sozialethik geleistet hat.

The focus of the essay is the theological reflection on the relationship between spirituality and socio-political responsibility, as well as between spirituality and Catholic social teaching. Pope Francis's statements on the relationship between contemplation and spirituality on the one hand and socio-political engagement on the other are presented and theologically analyzed. Furthermore, reference is made to the reflections of Marianne Heimbach-Steins, who has made a significant contribution to theological reflection on the relationship between mysticism and politics in Christian social ethics.
