A process involving an overall transformation of agriculture in Czechia began with a change in the political system at the beginning of the 1990s. This process of transition in Czechia agriculture is part of overall structural changes in the economy andsociety and, to some extent, it also part of the internationalization and globalization trends takong place in Europe and in the world. This impacts of the transformation of the Czech economy and society have been very important for agricultural sector and for the process of space polarization particularly in peripheral, marginal, areas. The key processes of the current landscape changes in terms of the transformation of the intensity and regional differentiation of land use since 1990 have been the transfer of land and means of production to the original owners or their descendants. Only a few really "new" land owners began to farm the land returned since the ties to the land had been severed over the past forty years and most new owne
