This article is about isoprenoids, terpens (i.e. menthol, ?-carotene, vitamin A, betulin) and steroids (i.e. cholesterol). The compounds are described, their properties and uses. The authors show the isolation and reaction with them. The technics mentioned in this article are thin layer chromatography, column chromatography, using UV light, simple organic reactions and other techniques. Other experiments exploit the similarity of isoprenoids with different types of compounds.
