Depuis la fin des années 1980, les pays de l'Europe centrale et orientale sont en période de transition et de transformation, leur ancien syst?me ayant été discrédité. Leur but ultime est de créer une société développée, démocratique, plurielle et parlementaire fondée sur une économie de marché. Le proc?s de transformation a été ressenti dans toutes les sph?res sociales (tant a l'échelle micro qu'a l'échelle macro) et a mené, dans une certaine mesure, a un nouveau phénom?ne : la migration internationale. Aujourd'hui, les pays de l'Europe centrale et orientale forment une (( zone tampon }} entre l'Est et l'Ouest. Cette zone est formée par la République tch?que, la Slovaquie, la Pologne et la Hongrie.

From the end of the 1980s Central and Eastern European countries (CEEc) have been going through a process of transition/transformation of its former discredited system. The ultimate aim was to build a developed, democratic, pluralistic and parliamentarysociety based on a free-market economy. The transformation processes have affected all spheres of society (on macro as well as micro level) and to some extent, lead to the development of one of the new phenomena - international migration. CEEc became a "buffer zone" between the West and the East that is composed by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary.
