This issue of Computer Science Review is a special issue dedicated to celebrate the 61th anniversary of Professor Maria Serna. This special issue has been made possible thanks to the efforts of the two guest editors, Carme Àlvarez and Paul Spirakis. We would like to thank all authors that made this issue possible and in particular the two guest editors. We also would like to congratulate Maria for all her professional achievements during these years, and wish her a fruitful continuation of her scientific accomplishments.
