Das Kapitel beschäftigt sich dem literarischen Schaffen von Michael Ende. Seine Romane werden als Bestandteil des kinder- jugendliterarischen Kanons der Weltliteratur, derer Einsatz im Rahmen des DaF-Unterrichts emphelneswert ist. Im Mittelpunkt der theoretischen steht die Überschneidungsfläche der Literaturwissenschaft und -didaktik. Man konzentriert sich auf Phantastik mit mehrfacher Adressierung des Textes, vor allem auf den Roman Die unendliche Geschichte.
