Czech Republic has a long tradition in using outdoor activities for recreation, turistika, sport, education and adventure. During the 20th century the political system has changed six times and education, sport, touristic and youth organizations and their management were changing with it. A varied network of qualifications related to turistika, outdoor activities and outdoor pursuits has developed through the years and these qualifications were related to fun, new skills, education and adventure. The big organizations, like Sokol (physical education organization developing also outdoor stay and outdoor exercises), Club of Czech tourists (outdoor stay and movement connected with learning and discovering), Scouting and outdoor sport clubs (especially rowing, cycling, canoeing and skiing) had their own systems of educating leaders and instructors. The chapter discusses the development in preparing outdoor leaders in the Czech Republic up today.
