Die Befestigungsanlagen auf dem Berg Vladař zeichnen sich durch die landschaftliche Do- minanz dieses Berges wie auch durch die Größe der Anlage aus. Eine Schlüsselstellung in den bisherigen Ausgrabungen nehmen paläoökologische Methoden ein, für deren Anwen- dung der Fundort sehr gute Bedingungen bietet. Vor allem die stratifizierten Befunde in zwei Bereichen mit Feuchtboden machen den Vladař zu einem besonderen Fundort. Ein sumpfiges Becken wurde auf der Gipfelfläche entdeckt und weitere Holzbecken indem Quellgebiet innerhalb der befestigten, hallstatt- bis lat?nezeitlichen Vorburg. Im Rahmen eines internationalen Forschungsprojektes wurde in der Vorburg die hölzerne Wasserzister- ne aus dem 5. Jahrhundert v. Chr. untersucht und konserviert.

The fortified complex on Mount Vladař is distinguished by the scenic dominance of the mountain and also by the large size of the complex. A key component of the excavations to date has been the use of paleoecological methods, for whose application the site pro- vides very good conditions. Above all, the stratified wetland contexts at two locations make Vladař an exceptional site. A marshy pond was discovered in the summit area and additional wooden cisterns were found in a spring-fed area within the fortified, Halstatt to Lat?ne period settlement foreground. As part of an international research project, the fifth century timber-lined cistern in the settlement foreground has been investigated and pre- served.
