The identification of capillary endings in proliferative retinopathy
Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
The aim of the study was to quantify the risk of visual loss in proliferative retinopathy and to compare the results with routine method. Method: The fundus photographs were elaborated by ACC (Adaptive Contrast Control) method to increase the contrast ofvessels. The distribution of vessel length for diameter was found and the total vessel length for a given diameter was calculated. The capillary endings were identified by means of the circle plotted from the middle of capillary diameter. The sector of circle non-intersecting the capillary that reached a given value was used as criterion. Results: In high risk of visual loss, the number of endings was found to be more then 1,5 higher in comparison with the findings in low risk of visual loss. Discussion: The method could be improved by introducing of coefficients considering the capillary ending location on fundus.
