Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
A detailed medical and anthropological analysis of skeletal remains from the cemetery at Antonínská Street in Brno has generated new data on the bodily constitution and health of different social groups among Brno populations from between 1775 and 1883.In the study of these exceptionally accurately dated skeletal remains of over 1000 individuals, classical morphoscopic and morphometric methods were used to ascertain basic bodily parameters. In paleopathological diagnostics, radiographic, histological and genetic examinations were used in addition to standard procedures. The part of study reported here dealt with a large group of inflammatory manifestations on bones due mainly to tuberculous or syphilitic processes. Inflammatory changes were found on skeletal remains of 4,8% of a total number individuals. Manifestations of tuberculous processes were most frequently found on the spine, while syphylitic changes were found on the typical site on the long bones of lower limbs.
