Decisive Factors in Wound Healing Process are: patient, wound, medical personnel and source of treatment. The factors relating to the treatment source are availability, adequacy and efficiency. In 2011, average public healthcare expenditures per capita in our republic totaled EUR 925.Average private payment of a single household member amounted EUR 130 annually. Financial Burden in our country in2012, the share of public healthcare expenditures was 84 %, the private payments accounted for 16 % Medical devices expenditures account for EUR 3 billion. Does application of NPWT really result in increased treatment costs. Methods: In the period between June 2011 and December 2013 we observed 78 patients with an 8 chest wounds, 9 open abdomen, 19 trauma defects and 42 defects following surgery who were treated using NPWT. We evaluated the length of treatment, cost of dressing, level of pain and the price of treatment.
