Popis výsledku v původním jazyce
We would like to thank the authors of the letter for their interest in our study and their thoughtful and detailed commentary on our article, “Long-term implant survival, functional, and radiological assessment of cemented stem in revision hip arthroplasty”. We are pleased that our work has stimulated valuable academic discussion on this important topic. We appreciate the recognition of our study’s strengths, including the long-term follow-up, sample size, and systematic evaluation of both clinical and radiographic outcomes. We agree that cemented stems remain a relevant and sometimes underutilized option in revision total hip arthroplasty (rTHA), particularly in selected patient populations. Regarding the concern about functional outcomes being reported for only 118 of 183 patients, we acknowledge this as a limitation. The missing data were primarily due to loss to follow-up or incomplete documentation rather than selective exclusion. Although we did not observe systematic differences between patients with and without complete Harris Hip Score (HHS) data, we recognize the potential for bias and have addressed this in the discussion. We also appreciate the suggestion to include additional variables in the Cox regression analysis, such as bone defect classification, and surgical technique. While these details were not included in the original publication due to space constraints, we are pleased to clarify them here.
