The initial part of Presentation briefly but accurately apprises with the right terminology for the multiculturalism of western Mediterranean art, and its cultural exchanges with the East. In the main body of the text Herbert L. Kessler gradually represents the work of Alberto Virdis, eminent historian of architecture and art. Virdis keeps his exposition focused on a single building in Sardinia, the church of San Nicola di Trullas and on its partially preserved fresco decorations.
