Die Anwendung großflächiger geophysikalischer Prospektion in Rettungsarchäologie ist in Tschechischer Republik ein neues Phänomen. Erst in jüngster Zeit wurden die durch Bautätigkeiten gefährdeten Fundorte in größerem Umfang prospektiert. Geophysikalische Untersuchungen erbrachten eine Menge von wertvollen Informationen, die ermöglichten das archäologische Potenzial der erforschten Gebiete zu bewerten. Gleichzeitig führten sie zu besserer logistischer Vorbereitung der archäologischen Arbeiten.

The combination of large scale geophysical prospection and preventive archaeology is still in the area of central-east Europe a new phenomenon. Only recently, places endangered by the construction activities started to be prospected in wider scale. Possibility to assess an archaeological potential and to plan earthworks and logistic for the construction site in advance, is what makes advance geophysical prospection beneficial for both the archaeologist as well as the investor.
