Ingrid Schellbach-Kopra in her paper "Sami proverbs in discourse" mentioned the huge proverb material, which S. Paulaharju had collected in the first half of 20th century and which deposited in the folklore archive of the Society for Finnish Literature in Helsinki. However, in Paulaharju's archive there are relatively few texts in Sami. In the paper, there is a examination of both, the Sami and Finnish proverbs collected by Paulaharju in the area of North Finland, Sweden and Norway from the point of view of traditional multiculturality and cultural and language interference in the area.
