Este artículo se ocupa del estatuto problemático de las construcciones apositivas del tipo palabra clave, fecha límite, consideradas por algunos lingüistas espaňoles como compuestos sintagmáticos, fraseologismos o estructuras sintácticas libres. Según intentamos demostrar, las principales causas de la diversidad de opiniones al respecto radican tanto en la heterogeneidad de las construcciones nominales en cuestión, como en la insuficiente precisión de los criterios empleados para diferenciar los compuestos sintagmáticos de los fraseologismos.

This paper deals with the problematic status of the appositive constructions of the type palabra clave, fecha límite, considered by different Spanish linguists as syntagmatic compounds, phrasemes or free syntactic structures. As we try to demonstrate, the principal causes of this diversity of opinions lie both in the heterogeneity of the nominal constructions in question and in the insufficiently precise criteria of delimitation between syntagmatic compounds and phraseological units.
