Barocité du bérénicien : Sur l’inspiration baroque du langage de Bérénice dans L’Avalée des avalés de Réjean Ducharme

Le roman L’Avalée des avalés (1966) de Réjean Ducharme (1941-2017), écrivain québécois, qui a rendu son auteur du jour au lendemain une vedette de la littérature québécoise, se range aujourd’hui parmi les classiques de la littérature franco-canadienne. Le livre a connu un grand succes non seulement auprés le public et la critique, mais aussi dans les cercles universitaires. C’est surtout son langage qui ne cesse d’inspirer la création de nombreuses études a son sujet grâce a son originalité, qui est également l’attribut de toute l’oeuvre ducharmesque. Dans le cas de L’Avalée des avalés, c’est le langage de Bérénice, sa narratrice, dit bérénicien qui attire l’attention des chercheurs. Dans notre contribution, nous essayerons de montrer comment cet idiolecte puisse son inspiration dans l’esthétique baroque et le langage de ce style que le bérénicien soit parfois étiquetté "baroque". Nous démontrerons comment la mimesis et la sensibilité baroque contribuent a ce langage dans la mesure qu’il peut etre désigné en tant que baroque et quels de ses éléments montrent sur une telle appellation.

The Swallower Swallowed (1966) by Réjean Ducharme (1941-2017), a Quebec writer, who made its author a star of Quebec literature overnight, ranks nowadays among the classics of French-canadian literature. The book has met with great success not only with the public and critics, but also in academic circles. It is above all the language that continues to inspire the creation of numerous studies thanks to its originality, which is also the attribute of all the Ducharme's oeuvre. In the case of The Swallower Swallowed, it is the language of Bérénice, its narrator, known as Berenician that attracts the attention of researchers. In our contribution, we will try to show how this idiolect finds its inspiration in the baroque aesthetics and the language of this style thus it si sometimes labeled "baroque". We will demonstrate how mimesis and baroque sensibility contribute to this language to the extent that it can be referred to as baroque and what of its elements show on such an appellation.
